Win 2 Return Air Tickets to Hong Kong

Hong Kong

Dear Ally (and the people behind Ally),

Thanks for the wonderful, good news of being the top referrer! It’s a total blast! :) You asked if I could answer a few questions regarding this particularly fun topic, and well, of course! It’s the least I could do in thanking you for organizing such a contest!

How do I feel about being the top referrer now?

SUPER! It’s pretty unbelievable too! I’ve won a cap, a travel bag…but nothing this big before…so, the feeling’s pretty…SUPER! Haha!

Why did you become a referrer? Besides the air-tickets, what is that you like about Allyhunt that makes you a referrer?

I see that you assume that one of the reasons I became a referrer is because of the air-tickets! Haha! Not particularly true, at first.

I became a referrer because it didn’t cost me anything to tell people of a new job portal. Since I myself was looking for job opportunities, and knew like-minded people, I just told them about it. It never occurred to me that they would fill up the form and put me as a referrer! When I knew I was in the top 30 (thank you for the updates!), I decided I’d take proactive steps and just try my luck at winning. Nothing to lose, really!

Besides the air-tickets, I believe it was the integrity of the people behind Allyhunt that made me more gungho about it and dare to tell people about the portal. I met them through friends and they struck me as passionate, sincere, hardworking people. If you know something good, being taken care of by good people, you just want to pass on the news!

I also like the fact that Allyhunt has a category for freelancers. This makes it different and helps people find side income too. I have also found a few uncommon positions such as research positions with reputable organizations such as WWF and CRC. This I like!

How did you get people to register with Allyhunt?

Haha! Good question! Basically, I wrote personal emails to people I knew. This helps them know that it’s not a hoax. I try to communicate my excitement and also my trust in the people behind Allyhunt. Even if they just visit the site, it’s enough. They are made aware of another option they can trust if ever they need to look for a job. If they register, great! If they put me as a referrer, better still!

I also kept a look out for jobseekers as they share with me. I then tell them about Ally. I also tell them my chances of winning a trip if they list me as a referrer. What they do with the info, I leave to them.

Finally, with close friends, I just upfront tell them that I need their support. Haha!

Since its 2 return air-tickets, who are you going to bring with you to Hong Kong?

No one. :) I’ll be giving the tickets to my parents. Mum likes to shop. Dad loves good food. This is the perfect destination for them! The looks on their faces when I told them the news was reward enough…delight to the MAX! Yippee!

Thanks again, Ally!

Best wishes,

Melissa
